About Us

It excites us to inspire girls to have confidence in themselves and embrace the belief that they can indeed make a positive difference in their lives and in our world. Now, more than ever, girls need to understand and really believe that they are valuable. It is because every day girls are bombarded with negative images that vie for their attention and self-esteem be it through mainstream media, social media networks or the general under currents of society that the confidence and self esteem of many girls are corroded. Therefore, it is important to inspire and encourage girls to boldly discover and develop their talents and strengths. While we can't solve all the challenges girls and young women face, we are optimistic about being instrumental in causing paradigm shifts that offer them new opportunities and experiences. Our time, talents and resources, and our intentional razor sharp focus on girls is significantly important as we encourage and empower them to become role models, productive leaders in their communities and the architects and builders of their lives positioned to bring about positive change in our world. 

We are focus on helping to make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless board of directors, staff, volunteers, interns, mentors and supporters: 

• America's Time out for Youth provides research based programming and long-lasting, nurturing, gender specific mentor relationships in safe, respectful environments through partnerships with schools and at community locations to encourage, empower, and bring about positive change in the lives of young people.
• We focus on achieving balance in all aspects of the growth and development of the lives of girls ages 6-18 by engaging them in intentional, constructive, and productive ways that equip them to lead healthy, confident, strong and wise lives, while recognizing and enhancing their strengths.
• We stress the importance of academic excellence, physical fitness, sports, health, well-being, and social grace.
• We implement a myriad of life skills development programs to enhance the lives of youth, particularly girls  including experiencing the arts, sports, and educational workshops, seminars and camps. 
• We organize fundraisers.
• We host community-building events. 
• We provide in-depth training sessions for volunteers and mentors.
• We provide opportunities for internships​.

With the goal to inspre, encourage, empower, and equip girls to achieve positive change to their lives. 

The vision for America's Time Out for Youth is to live in a fair and just society where all youth have experiences and opportunities that help them become productive citizens in a world where they can thrive and realize their wildest dreams.
